“Ten pointless facts about me”

Okay, here we go again. I dunno what it is about these trivia-about-me challenges, but someone I know from social media posted on and of course here I am to similarly delight the masses.

Do you floss your teeth?

Occasionally. Not as often as I should, I guess. Maybe twice a week. I do brush pretty well though, I use a 45° angle across the entire top, bottom, front and back, making sure to push the gums up. I use circular motions as well, and have done so for decades because I remember this ancient “brush your teeth” song, just stuck in my head all these years.

Tea, coffee, or water?

Coffee. Absolutely. 1000%. I’m completely addicted to Nespresso Vertuo ever since my wife randomly bought one over three years ago. I have at least three cups a day.

Footwear preference?

Always shoes when out – shopping hiking or whatever – and bare feet when home. I have fairly comfortable sneakers, including one pair of Reeboks that are virtually treadless now but super comfortable. I learned a couple of years ago that you can WASH sneakers, take out the laces, put them into a pillowcase and run them through on gentle cycle then air dry them. Done that a couple of times. Yeah, they’re THAT old and well-loved.

Favorite dessert?

Generally I don’t mind simple old vanilla ice cream and hot apple pie. I enjoy creme brûlée as well, and also vanilla malt shakes.

The first thing you do when you wake up?

Peel my eyes open because they’re always dry – I don’t drink enough fluids so I’m fairly dehydrated most of the time. Living in the middle of the desert doesn’t help things one little bit.

Age you’d like to stick at?

Tough question, I don’t know whether to answer this based on the age that I felt my “best’ at, or a general age that I’d like to be locked into for the rest of my life. Maybe 35?

How many hats do you own?

I have a number of baseball caps, perhaps 10-15 or so, but I literally never ever wear them.

Describe the last photo you took?

A picture of the brand new Nespresso Vertuo machine that I got from a Walmart clearance sale a couple of days ago.

Worst TV show?

Dr Pimple Popper. DISGUSTING.

As a child, what was your aspiration for adulthood?

As a child I wanted to be an astronaut, or a hunter, or a scientist, or an archer. For reasons that I don’t remember, Once I got into computers I knew that that would be my future.
